What does adjustable louver mean, and why is it important?

Certain models of firebox inserts come with “adjustable louvers”. These are the metal slats that cover the front of the heater. They are adjustable in nature so that the airflow coming out of the heater/fan can be directed to where you want that heat in your room. Simply direct the louvers up if you desire more heat higher in the room, or down if you want more heat near the ground.
